The tool supports five SQL dialects: Standard SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and SQL Server. Each dialect uses its own identifier quoting rules and upsert syntax, so the generated SQL is ready to paste directly into your database client or migration script. MySQL uses backtick quoting, SQL Server uses square brackets, and PostgreSQL and SQLite use double-quoted identifiers.
Three insert modes are available. Individual INSERTs generate one statement per row, which is the safest option for debugging. Bulk INSERT mode combines multiple rows into a single VALUES clause with configurable batch sizes (50, 100, 500, or 1000 rows), which is dramatically faster for large data imports. The upsert mode generates INSERT...ON CONFLICT (PostgreSQL/SQLite), INSERT...ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE (MySQL), or MERGE (SQL Server) statements for idempotent data loading.
All processing happens entirely in your browser using native JavaScript. Your data never leaves your machine — there are no server round-trips, no logging, and no third-party services involved. The tool also features automatic type inference for CREATE TABLE generation, column selection checkboxes, proper value escaping for SQL injection safety, and syntax-highlighted output for easy reading.
How to Use
- Paste a JSON array of objects (or a single JSON object) into the Input panel. Click Sample to load example data.
- Set the Table Name to match your target database table.

What JSON formats are accepted as input?
The tool accepts two formats: a JSON array of objects (e.g., [{"id": 1}, {"id": 2}]) or a single JSON object (e.g., {"id": 1, "name": "Alice"}). A single object is automatically wrapped in an array. Each object represents one row, and the object keys become column names. Objects do not need to have the same keys -- missing keys are treated as NULL.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. All conversion happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your JSON data never leaves your machine. There are no network requests, no logging, and no third-party services involved. This makes it safe to convert files containing credentials, customer data, or any other sensitive information.
How does the tool handle special characters in string values?
String values are properly escaped to prevent SQL injection issues. Single quotes inside values are escaped by doubling them (e.g., O'Brien becomes O''Brien). If you switch to double-quote mode, double quotes are escaped similarly. Nested JSON objects and arrays are serialized to JSON strings and properly escaped.
What is the difference between individual and bulk INSERT modes?
Individual mode generates one INSERT INTO ... VALUES (...) statement per row. This is easier to debug and works with any SQL client. Bulk mode combines multiple rows into a single INSERT INTO ... VALUES (...), (...), (...) statement, which is significantly faster for large imports because it reduces round-trips to the database. You can control how many rows per statement using the Batch Size selector.
How does upsert mode work across different SQL dialects?
Upsert mode generates conflict-safe insert statements. For PostgreSQL and SQLite, it uses INSERT ... ON CONFLICT (...) DO UPDATE SET. For MySQL, it uses INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE. For SQL Server, it uses the MERGE statement. The first column is used as the conflict/match key by default.
How does the CREATE TABLE type inference work?
When you enable the "Include CREATE TABLE" toggle, the tool analyzes all values in each column to infer SQL types. Strings map to VARCHAR(255) (or longer if needed), integers to INTEGER, floating-point numbers to DECIMAL(10,2), booleans to BOOLEAN (or TINYINT(1) for MySQL, BIT for SQL Server), and nested objects/arrays to TEXT. Columns containing any null values are marked as nullable.
Can I exclude specific columns from the generated SQL?
Yes. Once you paste valid JSON, a Column Selection panel appears showing all detected columns with checkboxes. Uncheck any columns you want to exclude from the INSERT statements and the CREATE TABLE definition. Use the "Select All" and "Deselect All" links for quick bulk toggling.
